GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CANADA!!!!!!!

Sorry. You are going to lose to the USA in ice hockey! Then the US will hold all 3 major world titles this year!

It's actually an "expression" around here :p Rather than being a bunch of smart@sses about my silliness, how about you cheer the actual message! Sheesh! :p

Petrah 02-12-10 09:16 PM

Life's too short! Id rather laugh at the funny stuff. /nods

:banana::banana::banana::banana: Way to go Canada. The opening was awesome :banana::banana::banana::banana:

PS - Personal note be damned.

I bet it was hard to write all that with tears in your eyes. I am sure that your pride in your people and your country had a few of them leaking as well.

So "please to forgive" - certainly we will, but forgive is not needed from us to you for posting this topic.

To those who are fortunate enough to be in Vancouver during the Games, enjoy as much as you can! There will be an energy and excitement in the air that you can feel. I know this as I am a veteran of three Olympics; Salt Lake City 2002, Athens 2004, and Torino (Turin) 2008. I served as a volunteer for those Games and those memories will remain with me until the day I return to the earth.

There will be a metric ton of things to see and do. If you get a chance, go see some events! Tickets for qualifying rounds and such are usually quite cheap and easy to get (except for figure skating and some ice hockey games such as any involving Team Canada.

I have split loyalties since I grew up along the US/Canada border and spent time on both sides. Thus GO TEAM USA and GO TEAM CANADA!!!

Opening Ceremonies were awesome! :D I especially liked the ocean/whale projection thing. So real looking! Watching it in HD really added to it, I'm sure.

NBC also had a thing right before the Opening about the close relationship between Canada and the US, very moving. I wanted to give Canada a big hug!

:D

Yes, Opening Ceremonies where awesome. However I have a huge bone to pick with the broadcast rights holder for Italy, Sky Italia. It seems that they have to provide a feed to RAI Due (one of the RAI channels) for free to air broadcast. However if you are a Sky subscriber (as I am so I can get some decent TV that I can actually understand), you have to pay extra as the bastards black out RAI Due so you have to watch their Olympic channels. Grrr!!! Rupert, have you got enough money?

However luckily I get ARD, ZDF and Channel 1 (Russia) which are all carrying Olympic coverage. So I watched the Ceremonies at about 3 AM local time on ARD in German. I can't understand Italian very either so it was not great loss and the ARD commentators knew when to shut their traps. Italian commentators abhor "dead air" were they are not yapping.

So thanks to Sky, I get (and have to) watch the Olympics in German or Russian.

Looks pretty awesome.

Kinda sucks that it's on the other side of the world though, a lot of the broadcast will be at night here. :/ I usually look forward to watching the hockey games but only a few of them start at a reasonable hour. Hopefully Sweden can defend the gold this time around! :)

cloudwolf 02-13-10 01:04 PM

The projections were A FREAKING MAZING. unforutnatly nbc broadcasted like crap the sound cut out every once in a while which realy was annoying. I am glad that they had the minute of silence for the guy. I just wish they talked a little less about him.

Cairenn 02-14-10 08:27 PM

WooHoooo! GOLD!!!! YAY Alex!

LittleWhiteDove 02-14-10 11:19 PM
