Can you hide / show background ring when for target?

I can't figure out how to make the background ring hide for target. It's showing all the time so I wanted to see if anyone here that knows lua more could show me what I have to change. It's the ring...

I been working on one of Zork's add-on's rRingMod and I almost have it setup. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to hide the background in the ring and whatever shows the clear donut or frame on...
