I think this somewhat happened to me but in a different situation. Though, I don't run too many addons so I remembered to get them all back. Still a pain to reconfigure the UI again, though.

I used to play full screen. But it was kinda slow to alt tab between other stuff and that became annoying. So I switched to windowed mode and never went back.
