Hide seasonal events?

Is it possible to hide seasonal events, such as midsummer, halloween, pilgrim and so on.
Its only a minor "annoyance" to have these exclamation mark's all over the worldmap, but i wish i could hide...

I did indeed exit the game when i removed the savedvariables files.
In fact i did this a couple of times just to be sure.

As for the setting-transfer...

I must say that Carbonite is one of the best addons out there by far.
