That was a separate HUD mod someone was using, with the straight bars, instead of the HUD built into nUI.
As for the DK panels, I think you're actually referring to the vehicle panels as they're the ones that overlay the dashboard when you're riding a beastie of one sort or the other. The answer to that question is that nUI does now include a unit frame for vehicles, but you still can't see it when you're in one because the default Bliz vehicle frame is still overlaying it. I hope to the Bliz vehicle frame embedded into nUI in the next update.
And I suppose now would be a bad time to make a crack about jar-heads, squids and flotsam, huh? ~grin~ (kidding)

I was Navy, I was stationed on a Marine transport ship..amphibious assault ship.
Edit: in a previous post I saw a hud with straight bars, is that a command in nUI? I didn't see it before.
