Thanks everyone for all the help and advice. It turned out to be the plasma tv not picking up fast enough / and turning off. I got tired of the tv slipping back into no signal mode and having to keep the remote in my hand and hooked up to lcd monitor and it worked. Loading Vista now... *shiver*
