I find this attitude toward deep linking puzzling. This is fundamentally how the web works, and should work. It is the responsibility of a site owner/operator to protect their content in whatever way they see fit -- and they may choose not to, or be too ignorant to protect it at all. Such is life.
As I am quite new to this thread, and this site in general, I have removed my deep links since I would prefer to not run afoul of the moderators, and respect your rules and requirements. I further realize that there has been litigation around this subject, and that you are likely acting in a manner that is defensive and prudent.
