I started
LibMapPins-1.0 for this very reason, but left it for other real life concerns. Unfortunately, that means "ifs" and "buts". It is Open Source, and my intent was for anyone to contribute.
Sadly, I have left Warcraft, but would be happy to have the community continue the work.
