Yep! Logging into the PTR actually uses a separate WoW "license" -- if you log into the Battle.net website and look at your list of WoW accounts, it'll have a PTR account next to your regular and trial account(s), assuming you've logged into a PTR client at some point.

Yeah, but in the past you didn't have to provide the email address attached to your Battle.net account -- a beta key was just mailed to your WoWI email address (or whatever address you entered on the giveaway page) and you could attach it to any Battle.net account you wanted -- so Blizz couldn't actually verify that your account was active before giving you the key.
