With normal questing, I don't have any FPS issues with Carbonite either. No idea if it affects me in raids because I don't have it (or any other non raid related addons) enabled when I go in.
I have, by todays standards, and outdated rig. However, my machine runs the same as it did back when I first built it and it was considered high end. Very smooth
