If the global lookups are so fast (which they appear to be. The difference between local and global is very small), then doesn't that mean the only downside to polluting the namespace is collisions? Which is a big deal and in itself makes tables worthwhile. But I'm trying to see the real benefit before I try a mod with an OOP slant.
Other than collisions, what's the downside to polluting the global namespace?
