No offence, but the semantic difference is very slight. xP The meaning is almost the same, and attempting to distract others from the original point of your argument to shift attention to your linguistic genius doesn't change the original matter, that is, that donations are just that: donations, and not salary. You are technically correct, but not by much, and the point is, everyone understood the guy you're replying to. Dicing words doesn't change the fact. No offence, I'm just saying.
