Autobar to be fixed?

Since 1.8 autobar is completely fubar! I have not seen anyone post about it and searches don't turn up anything.

Is the person who wrote it still supporting it? I don't really know how to do that stuff, but I would really like to see autobar get fixed.

If anyone has any ideas for making this work, that would be great.
