Looking for non-library...

I'm looking for a replacement for AutoBar that isn't dependent on a library. I find AutoBar as one of 'those addons' that are just amazing, but I think it would be nice to have the function while doing without the features, IF I can move away from huge huge libraries, that are only used for this one addon (in my case).

Anyone have any suggestions? (search has left me huddled in a corner, hallucinating).

. I'm not great at giving the details of what I'm after, after re-reading my first post; is there anything that doesn't take button id's on my actionbars? It seems GMX is sort of like an improved/updated Select ( http://www.wowinterface.com/download...07-Select.html ).

Might be applicable, though not sure as it's purpose isn't really for items, then again, autobar has seen features like aspects, totems, aura's... That was the day I moved away from it.

I stopped using AutoBar the day I found oPie. It does, in fact, handle items.

I've used it too, and love everything about it, except it's screen real estate (and it's round).

I've been looking for a project to do to call my own (nobody hand me a loaded gun for the next few months (hopefully not years..), I may just use it), I think in order to get exactly what I'm after is to do it myself (if I don't shoot myself, first).

For the record, what I want to do..

1) Scalable square (cornered) bars, with buttons that pop out.

2) No huge library.

3) Ability to add/remove item/spell via slash command of the UnitID or SpellID_bar #, button #... or just use the item name.

(ie.. /yhorbar add Example321, Bar 2, Button 1
/yhorbar add Hearthstone, Bar 2, Button 2)

Does this sound like an impossible feat for a nub like myself? Or, if this exists already, please clue me in to it's location

. No GUI needed, no xml, just a light weight utility bar that doesn't steal my button id's.

Like it, but it steals button id's

. I used it for about 6-7 months actually, just after MazzleUI broke in Oct of '08.

What screen real estate? Rings stay hidden until you press their corresponding keybinds.

Possibly http://www.wowinterface.com/download...7190-XBar.html ? Though I have no idea how it works for what you're wanting, but personally, it was what I went to after I ditched Autobar. It has preset bars for each class, but it also allows you to set up your own custom bar (so I have a bar for my shaman with her utility spells: water walking, water breathing, far sight, astral recall and a different one that has the base utility items: mount macro, hearth, bandages and pots).
