You misinterpreted. What he (or maybe she?) meant was not that you shouldn't post error messages, just that you should enclose the error messages in CODE tags. This gives the error message a little frame of its own, with scrollbars if needed, and saves a lot of space on the page.

It looks a little something like this, and when writing a message, the function can be accessed by clicking the # icon.
