Is it possible, if having read the information from the calendar, I can set up a list of times or dates based on when events in the calendar are scheduled to start, and then have an addon process information at those times?

IE .. 50 ppl are invited, 30 people signup .. for an event that starts at 7PM on Feb 20th 2009.
On Feb 20th 2009 at 7PM, the addon will evaluate which of the 30 people that signed up is actually online?
