THE FIX if you cannot /mazzify successfully

This tidbit of information should be stickied and added to the FAQ and Known issues for this excellent interface.

MazzleUI works perfectly, and the Mazzifier works perfectly, until that fateful day when you innocently stick another -Ace- addon manually into your Interface folder. Then, from that point on, the Mazzifier starts working erratically if at all.

This problem is most noticeable if you roll up a new character and attempt to /mazzify it. You'll get the first Mazzify Me button, then everythign seems to hang and you never get the second button, and your UI for that new character is completely fubared.

The fix is SIMPLE: From your character selection screen for the problem character, open the Addons window and disable every -Ace- addon that is not part of the basic MazzleUI package. Then enter the game and simply run /mazzify again, and it will work perfectly.

After you successfully mazzify, you can log out, reenable the offending -Ace- addon, and then log in again to have access to that addon as well.

You don't have to completely replace your Interface folder with the base MazzleUI distribution in the zip file. You don't need to disable any other non-Ace addons, such as Auctioneer, etc. It's ONLY the -Ace- addons that don't come with MazzleUI that will give you any trouble with MazzleUI.

You'll have to do this for *every* character when you plan to re-mazzify it for some reason. Yes, this is a small pain for a new character that is leveling up quickly, and you want to re-mazzify every time you get new skills, but it's a small price to pay for a great UI.

Hope this helps!

Another tid-bit for yourself: You can just say button config and press mazzify, it doesn't even reload ui and works with new addons in your folders

Seriously, YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THAT! Simply log of and log back on, and you can mazzify fine! No Disabling other addons, or anything else that complicated.

This has already been addressed Here and Here. Just thought you might like to know.

You both are right.

As stated by Mazzlefizz and others on NUMEROUS occasions on these forums, when Mazzifying a brand-spanking-new character, the Mazzifier won't function correctly at first. This has to do with the intro that plays when you create a new character. Just log out and back in and it will be fine.

Also stated NUMEROUS times all over the forums, if you have installed additional mods that are not included with MazzleUI, it is best to Mazzify BEFORE installing/enabling those extra addons.

Ratheri, his post is intended to help avoid problems with people who add add-ons that have updated ace libraries that may conflict with the older ones in the distribution of MazzleUI.

Hmmm... wasn't really aware of that problem... been running Ace2 mods other than just the standard MazzleUI stuff and never ran into it. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for thinking I know everything
