I'm guessing it has nothing to do with Windows 7 but could be wrong. I have WoW running just fine on Windows 7 with Carbonite...didn't do anything special....

window7

I just upgraded to windows 7 after using vista w/o problems, on login I get the carbonite info box with all the tips and the box asking if I want to consolidate the maps. if I click no it goes away and I am left with game minimap. If I click yes it reloads the ui and then both boxes return and map doesnt change, everything else seems to work though. deleted and reinstalled carbonite also.

Well, hopefully someone that uses carbonite can help you there. If not perhaps take a look in the carbonite forums in case the query has already been made and solved.

Basic install path, I downloaded the folders, put them in the addons folder. If that doesn't work then other stuff you are trying to use isn't going to work either.

I suggest you take a look at this thread. If you performed the recommended install you will find your folders here C:\Users\**Username**\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns Make sure you have show hidden files and folders checked in the folder options.
