CallToArms, LFG Mod

Call To Arms, the LFG add-on

CallToArms (CTA) has three main features:

1. Browse a list of LFG messages
CTA creates a list of players looking to join a group and groups looking for more players.

2. Flag yourself as LFG or flag your group as LFM
Using this feature, the player enters a short description of the desired quest/instance etc. that s/he would like to do. This information is then posted for other players to see.
CTA lets group leaders create a profile of their group. This profile includes a short description, the maximum size of the group and the level range of the group members. Group leaders can even set the class distribution of the group members.

3. Blacklist players
CTA also has a blacklist feature which is a list of players that are not allowed to join your group. The blacklist also acts as an extended ignore list.

Cta R3

Call To Arms R3 will be released in a few days. Here are some of the bug fixes and new/improved features of R3:

Bugs/Issues Resolved:

1. Cannot see CTA icon and/or icon text
2. Cannot set max size higher than five when creating group
3. Group type changes to PVP when selected in results list
4. Group max size does not change to 5 when converting from raid to party
5. Acid items out of scale when group type changed

New/Improved Features:

1. Improved CTA channel use and control
2. Improved group search results reporting
3. Improved BlackList
4. New minimap button
5. New German localization
6. Improved group hosting process

R3 is here!

Yes I know I said that already - but that was last night and I was tired. Now for a formal introduction

CTA R3 is now available for download. Several bugs found in R2 have been fixed and new/improved features implemented, including German localization, making R3 a considerable improvement over R2 in almost every way.

Here are some of the changes made from R2 to R3:

Features:
New Log frame with chat monitoring (beta);
New Settings frame;
Improved group search results reporting;
Improved BlackList;
New minimap button;
New German localization;
Improved group hosting process;
Search by moving mouse over the minimap icon;
Redesigned internal invitation system;
Several minor user interface improvements

Bugs:
Can set max size higher than five when creating raid group;
Group type no longer changes to PVP when selected in results list;
Group max size now changes to 5 when converting from raid to party;
Acid items are correct scale when group type changed

As always, thanks for using CTA, especially those who have been promoting it and have helped me test the R2/R3 version. I hope you find it more useful than ever. Please do not hesitate to report any bugs/issues, comments or any other feedback.

CallToArms R5 is here.

R5 has some significant internal changes. One of the more important changes involves the way CTA communicates. This change was necessary to provide better search features to the user. As a result of this change, CTA R5 is not backwards compatible, so everyone who downloaded CTA before MUST update their copy to R5.

Here are some of the changes in R5:

CTA's communication channel changed from 'ctaqueries' to 'CTAChannel'
New re-designed (push) communication system.
Improved group member class distribution.
Improved public channel LFx monitoring and reporting.
Automatic group list updates (number shown on minimap icon)
Several user interface improvements.

help

Love the program I am about to spam it all over the Boards in WoW if it's ok with you and I will give you all the credit for it but I do have one problem with it and was wondering if there was a way to trun it off...... I keep on getting "[5. CTAChannel] [Ashlon]: /cta A<848478575884:Party LFG to run SM:0>" Is there a way to fix that so it dosent show?

Right-click on your General tab. Under Channels, uncheck CTAChannel. This will not remove you from the channel, but will "hide" what it sends.

CTA was tested with the new 1600 UI and appears to work fine. The TOC file has been updated to indicate this. CTA will try to join 'CTAChannel' automatically when started. CTA will wait until a channel message is received before doing this, to avoid replacing channel 1 with 'CTAChannel' as was the problem some players had in R5.

Here are some of the changes in R6:

Updated TOC to indicate 1600 compliance.
Several minor UI adjustments.
Fixed a bug involved in the retrieval of player information, used to validate those players who have requested an invitation to the group.
Changed auto-joining of CTAChannel to occur after first receiving a channel message, to avoid CTAChannel replacing the General channel as channel 1.

I'm Back :)

OK, I have been busy for some time now and I apologize for not responding sooner. Now that I have some free time I will be working of getting R7 ready for release this weekend.

Since I have been out of touch for quite some time I have compiled a list of issues I will be dealing with for R7. If you have any comments suggestions please let me know.

1. Add Sky support, as an option, not dependant.
2. Fix player number in LFG announce feature.
3. Enable/disable auto-invite feature
4. Improved group info and display layout in search window.
5. Add whisper to group leader by right clicking on a group in search window.
6. Add announce button in host group window.

I will follow up on the messages I sent to the various UI Collections asking them to add CTA. So far I have received replies from Cosmos and CTMod. I will finish a beta of R7 before I make any further request to get CTA added to the collections, for testing purposes.

Thanks for all the suggestions and other comments and I hope CTA becomes a useful mod to the WoW community in return,

Is there a way to make CTA forward messages that start with "LF " (LF<space>), like "LF healer for lbrs"?

I tried to change the trigger words to :"lf%d*m""lf "

But then no lfm messages where forwarded.

Found a way!

I changed the trigger word for LFM messages from "lf%d*m" to "lf%d*"

That way it will trigger from "LF*M" and "LF (healer/tank/mage)" messages too!

Imho you should change the default trigger word asap!

After i dled this mod i found out that it really wasnt needed for me so i went to Delete it. After i deleted it a couple hours later i typed in /5 on accident and i entered a CTAChannel, and im pretty sure thats Call To Arms. I deleted this mod and i still have the channel i was like "WTF" so i went into my WTF folder and found somefiles called CallToArms so i delted those 2 files, went back into wow and it was still there. All i want is to get ride of that 5th channel called CTAChannel cause i DONT have the mod anymore and i dont want that channel.

Just leave the channel. type /leave #, # being whatever channel is CTA's channel.
