It might break up the messyness if you use a different facade for your buttons. The buttons are kinda everywhere also. I like the ones around the health and power frames, but id like to see a standard 2 (or however many you need) lines of buttons for your main abilities.

idk if your the raid leader, but i dont think id use the raid CD mod youre using.. it takes up an ass load of room.

What font and addon do you use in your chat in this ui?

I always think this. If a UI I want to use has small buttons or small UFs.. I always make them 25%-50% bigger, hah.

In that screenshot, I used the font Junction for my chat. I use the chat addon aChat, which I think has been out-of-date for a while. (I fixed it... kinda.)

As far as memory is concerned, it just depends. If I'm leveling a new character, I will probably be using addons that require more memory/cpu. If I'm farming 5-mans on a new 85, it'll run lighter. If I'm running newer raids on my main toons, then I'll probably be using DBM. Low-end would probably be a 3-5mb of memory, higher end would run at closer to 10mb (LightHeaded/DBM/DMG Meters are heavy... o_o). My UIs are by no means 'ultra-light', but I try to run them as efficiently as possible, especially since my computer is fairly low-end.

I hope that answers your question

Yeah, I didn't stick with that one for very long... I use a 13.3" screen, so I thought that it would help increase screen 'real-estate'. Needless to say, it didn't work that well :P

I've done this, as well. Small screen + Small UF/Buttons = Ow ow ow, my eyes.

My Tuk edit wasn't quite meeting my needs, and was a pain to edit anytime I wanted more changes, so started from scratch a bit earlier. So far, just got the bars and UF set up. Haven't made any major changes to the oUF layout yet, though, so it's still mostly stock.

My plans are to try to get as much into the middle or near middle without making it crowded. I haven't quite decided yet on minimap/data text/buffs yet, and would definitely like some input for those.

EDIT: Got my minimap/chat/coolline set up, threat/damage meters are going to the right of the minimap, but I haven't yet chosen which ones to use.

This is my latest attempt at compacting my UI and centralizing all my important everythings.

While I admit to still tweaking some of this (and in fact I have since these SS's but I have no in combat shots at the moment, sorry). The raid frames in the bottom right hand corner are driven by Pitbull4 with some custom Lua code of my own. Since I'm a DPS and not a healer the serve my purpose perfectly. The panel behind the raid frames auto hides when the frames go away (ie: no raid, no useless screen junk). The boss frames are a very (VERY!) stripped down version of ShadowUF. The health is color coded, mainly I did this for the skinning uniform look of the rest of my UI.

The unitframes are all also Pitbull4 with again, more custom LUA with the health colored according to damage in each case. The Name & Powerbar are class colored. The entire middle between the unitframes is my main action bar and all my important procs and CLCDK for helter skelter fights where having a bit of a visual cue can be useful. When I'm not in combat all of that is hidden. I only track my debuffs on the target and that is handled with Raven (as is my timeline and all my buffs & debuffs). The threat bar above my target (this has been changed slightly as well, sorry no SS's) started off life as SimpleThreatBar then I hacked the crap out of it so it behaved more like I wanted (needed) it to. The scrolling battle text at the bottom is Parrot (with non-stock settings). Also not showing next to the CLCDK next best attack Icon is another Raven raid debuff tracker. I find this very useful for easily tracking important FL debuffs (or any raid related debuffs I want). Such as tormented, tormented stacks, fixated, etc etc.

@Necrophgst: Really like that one... Will try Raven on my own UI later... Seems promising!

Anyway, here's what I use atm:

Using my own (soon to be released) oUF-layout, a person actionbar addon and as you can see, most of the UI has been modified to match.
As you can see, I lack a good buff-mod atm. I think I will try Raven or simply skin the default buffs.

Nice one there.

For buff layout you should try nBuff from Neav's UI, i highly-recomand this, simple, same as blizzard, nothing special.

You should also, skin the chat-tabs

also the debuffs for oUF should be colors like magic = blue etc.

Also you should really get your nameplates to match your UI

May I suggest to hide CompactRaidFrameManager? IMO it's absolutely useless in collapsed state.

One of possible solutions:
Code:
local listener = CreateFrame"Frame"

local function OnEvent(self, event, addon)
	if(addon=="Blizzard_CompactRaidFrames") then
		CompactRaidFrameManagerToggleButton:EnableMouse(false)

		local man = CompactRaidFrameManager
		man:SetAlpha(0)

		man.container:SetParent(UIParent)

		man:SetScript("OnMouseUp", CompactRaidFrameManager_Toggle)

		man:SetScript("OnEnter", function(self)
			if(self.collapsed) then
				UIFrameFadeIn(man, .2, 0, 1)
			end
		end)

		man:SetScript("OnLeave", function(self)
			if(self.collapsed) then
				UIFrameFadeOut(man, .2, 1, 0)
			end
		end)

		self:UnregisterEvent(event)
		self:SetScript("OnEvent", nil)
	end
end

if(IsAddOnLoaded"Blizzard_CompactRaidFrames") then
	OnEvent(listener, "ADDON_LOADED", "Blizzard_CompactRaidFrames")
else
	listener:RegisterEvent"ADDON_LOADED"
	listener:SetScript("OnEvent", OnEvent)
end
Fades out the frame when it's minimized and fades back in when i'ts under mouse or opened. Should work at live realms.

- Finally fixed the stupied flyout on totembars :P

- changed the calendar invite effect, so instead of the date, now the whole minimap borders become purple

Thanks Alza. Works like charm. My implementation:
lua Code:
  1. --raid
  2.     if cfg.units.raid.hideManager then
  3.       --disable the blizzard raidframe container+manager
  4.       CompactRaidFrameManager:UnregisterAllEvents()
  5.       CompactRaidFrameManager:HookScript("OnShow", function(s) s:Hide() end)
  6.       CompactRaidFrameManager:Hide()
  7.     else
  8.       local listener = CreateFrame("Frame")
  9.       listener.check = function(self, event, addon)
  10.         if(addon~="Blizzard_CompactRaidFrames") then return end
  11.         CompactRaidFrameManagerToggleButton:EnableMouse(false)
  12.         local man = CompactRaidFrameManager
  13.         man:SetAlpha(0)
  14.         man.container:SetParent(UIParent)
  15.         man:SetScript("OnMouseUp", CompactRaidFrameManager_Toggle)
  16.         man:SetScript("OnEnter", function(self)
  17.           if(self.collapsed) then
  18.             UIFrameFadeIn(man, .2, 0, 1)
  19.           end
  20.         end)
  21.         man:SetScript("OnLeave", function(self)
  22.           if(self.collapsed) then
  23.             UIFrameFadeOut(man, .2, 1, 0)
  24.           end
  25.         end)
  26.         self:UnregisterEvent(event)
  27.         self:SetScript("OnEvent", nil)
  28.       end
  29.       if(IsAddOnLoaded("Blizzard_CompactRaidFrames")) then
  30.         listener.check(listener, "ADDON_LOADED", "Blizzard_CompactRaidFrames")
  31.       else
  32.         listener:RegisterEvent("ADDON_LOADED")
  33.         listener:SetScript("OnEvent", listener.check)
  34.       end
  35.     end

Judging by the UI:Mount ratio of that picture, me thinks someone just wanted to show off their shiny new mount
