1.7 Planning ahead

What do you all reccomend to plan ahead for the changes to UI in 1.7?

Is everything going to be broken or ?

Let me know as I would like to know so the people who use my Hunter package dont suffer too much.

Thank you (if it will be business as usual just let me know that too )

i know Fizzwidgets Hunter Helper is gonna need a lot of updating, poor guy...Us hunters really appreciate though Fizz!

There were 2-3 threads over at WoW's UI/Macro forums earlier yesterday...I'll see what I can find.

Blah, it's so impossible to search WoW Forums

I suggest copying your WTF and Interface folders over to the Test server and you can see what may or may not blow up. That is my suggestion. Did it last night and most of it was fine but the new folder structure for the savedvariables values didn't like one of my data storing addons.

Was either Auctioneer or Lootlink that blew it up because of the way WoW parsed out the old savedvariables.lua file into the new method.

Just make sure all your addons are enabled when you load for the first time.

I did some testing yesterday with the addons I use and posted in the UI forum and in the addons support pages.

These 3 addons crash WOW to desktop halfway through the load process.

Nymdia Perl Unitframes
Multi Assist
PoisonMaster

These load but don't work.

FishingBuddy
Quest I-O-N

These kind of work with errors

TipBuddy
EquipManager on occasion, can't duplicate problem repeatedly. May be flaky server.

The combat spam has changed (for the better). Mods that rely on combat spam to grab info will need adjusted to accomidate the new "school" in the log.

Thanks for the replies, i use a lot of those in my package Saber hehe.

Ill have to make sure to forwarn people to wait for an update to my package before using it after the patch.

Dont want everyone having big huge issues, its not fun!

Yeah, it is a pain to chase down problems when you have 24 addons loaded. It takes a while.
