Keeping Chat Log

I'm not sure if I can do this or not. Since I am a n00b I'm not real familiar with the code used.

But I am trying to keep a log of the chat in game. I want to put them into a file for reference. Does WoW already do this? I tried looking through some files and didn't find anything.

But is it even possible to store in a separate file?

Thanks in advance

/chatlog

if you want to log the combat log, it's

/combatlog

Then they're located in the World of Warcraft\Logs folder

ok, that does keep a log of chat, but is there anyway to log it in real time?

I notice it only updates when you exit WoW

No. WoW is a closed box. You can only write to the log files or saved variables upon reload or log out.
