nUI, Fubar and Console

I use a fair number of Fubar addons and use both the upper and lower bars. Unfortunately, with the nUI console turned on there's a strip across the top just under Fubar that has absolutely nothing in it and it's rather wasteful. I'd like to be able to get that short strip (where it says Player/Target) out of the way or merge it with Fubar. Either that or be able to move the console (I know about the /nui movers command) and move the console so it sits elsewhere on the screen without the background strip staying in its default place. I'm not sure I am being clear about this, but in other words, I want to see more of my screen. I've attached a screenshot which hopefully explains what I'd like to do.

That is a deliberate feature, its design is there ready for when Scott adds in extra information there like gold count, durability etc So, not really wasted, just planning ahead

As to removing it totally, the only way at present is to use one of the art setups that make the top panel transparent and thus no visual display. Then move the micromenu where you want and you're set. nUI_Carbon and nUI_Shaman are 2 of said art setups that I have used in the past and allowed me to do that.

Okay, I tried that and yes, it does as you say, but both Carbon and Shaman add this huge piece of artwork around the main action bar that kind of messes up that part of the screen. I've included a shot of what Shaman and Carbon does. As you can see, that's more stuff to get in the way.

Other than that I can't help you. Carbon and Shaman I used as I like all my stuff at the bottom, so I didnt have to keep looking up Have a look at the other art setups and see if there are any that fit what you want. Other than that its hope that the people that made them are interested in making any more. I personally have yet to figure out how that side of things work so can't help you there.

If you do not want to see the top console at all it can be hidden with /nui console off or /nui console mouseover which im sure you can figure out what that does. Scott also just mentioned that he's planing on adding the hide in combat option as well though it will probably not be till nui6 I would guess.Could also try this skin http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info12057-nUI_Dragon_Thin.html or this one which hides the top graphic (but leaves the player target button so you can move it around) on the default nui skin http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info12113-nUI_Transparent_Console.html

If all that fails for you this thread explains how to make custom skins. http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21404

Bear in mind though that hiding the console also hides the micro menu. With the art it doesn't

Thanks to your suggestion I found what I needed, but had to do a little modification. The Warlock addon (not the Warlock Dashboard Skin) has the transparent background, but I wasn't fond of the artwork so I just renamed all but the transparent background blp filres to something else and now it looks perfect. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I was able to get rid of the unused black areas at the top by using the same warlock art plugin, nUI Warlock.

The problem is, I want to move the micromenu & HUD button to another location on the screen, and also make that element hide until mouseover. Easy to do with /nui movers and then /nui console mouseover, right?
Nope, because to unhide it the mouse has to be moved over the now transparent area at the top center of the screen, not where my micromenu/HUD button is at the lower right!

Thank you.

Yep, that is the problem with those. The skins like nUI_Shaman would be more the kind of thing you want as the top section doesn't exist or is transparent, cannot remember which. Then it would be simply the case of moving the micromenu section to where you want it. Keep it to always shown and you will be none the wiser

The transparent console art from the Warlock plugin that I used does just that, and as long as I keep /nui console on it is fine. But I wanted to keep it hidden until mouseover.

Once again "you can't always get what you want", unless you know how to make it that way yourself.

Thank you.

Ah, I guess there is another reason you need the hover option on. Rofl, I never needed to set it to anything other than on. That's where I can't help you I'm afraid *sigh*.
