Addon Idea?

I came across something last night that I think would make a great addon. However I HAVE NO IDEA about anything regarding LUA.

Here is what I am thinking. A broker type plugin that can be used by mages for portals. Basically It would be a little button that says portals or something, and when you click on it a listing of all your available portals/teleports would show.

Then you just click on the one you want and POOF you got a portal.

This may already be created, if so I would love a link, as i couldnt find one. If not, would one of you LUA experts be willing to take this on? Or possibly help me get going on it?

I think this would be a great tool for mages and would make a nice addon to add to your bars.

I am currently using portalbox. However I was thinking something smaller, that could just be added to the bars, for users with a databroker display of some sorts.

Mage Nuggets, already mentioned, has what you want along with the other mage goodness.

Portal and Teleport Menu: Click the mini-map button to display portals, teleports and hearthstone. Teleports and portals can take up tons of bar space and this will fix that. If you do not wish to use the mini-map button simply make a macro with "/magenuggets ports" and drag it to your bars. This will give you all of your ports, teleports, and hearthstone on one hotbar button.

Nevermind. I will just talk to some lua coders individually.

( i do not want some giant addon with other stuff I dont want, I do not want a giant box on my screen, I just want a dropdown menu for my Broker bar thing).

I am sure there was another addon around a whiles back that just did that from memory but it may have been discontinued but I did use it myself for a while.

The reason I suggested that addon is perhaps to give you the opportunity to learn lua by figuring out how that section works in the addon and write your own addon to do just the bit you want. It's how I learnt to do all this stuff

Sounds like you need Broker: Transit. It does exactly what you described:

Was about to say, yes, there's a broker one, but I couldn't remember the name. That's it, I believe. Been using it for ages, love it.
