Content Patch 1.6 Goes Live 12 July 05, Details about BlizzCon, and More!

The 1.6 Content Patch goes live tomorrow! - Fangtooth on 11 July 05

During the Tuesday weekly maintenance, we will be releasing content patch 1.6! As a reminder, Warriors and Warlocks will have had their talent points reset. Warriors and Warlocks will need to re-allocate their talent points, by accessing the Talent panel (default key “N”). For information about patch 1.6, you can read the patch notes here.

You can see the original Blizzard thread here

There are changes to the UI with this patch. You should be able to run with "Load Outdated AddOns" checked for now. Please allow mod authors a couple days to get their mods updated before you start screaming.

As an added reminder, do not manually change your toc numbers. Just run it the way I outlined above until the authors release their updates.

The UI changes that mod authors need to be aware of were posted a while back, you can see the listing here.

And More!

Three other things that folks should enjoy!

"Silly Slouken"

Well, it's content patch week, which means stress level is likely to go through the roof for a number of folks. So, following in the tradition we started last time ... we need to do something silly, to make people laugh! Last time, we kidnapped Slouken. This time? This time you get to put him in silly situations! That's right, we are looking for pictures of Slouken in funny, unusual, silly situations, either in WoW or not. How about a picture of him being chased by a pack of rabid murlocs? Or maybe dangling in the claws of a harpy?

So, to help get you started, we were able to procure three photos of Slouken. You may use any of these three in your picture. Once you've finished your picture, post it here so everyone can giggle!

The thread to post your pictures, and the images of Slouken to use in them, is here.

Please note: All pictures must be "Family Friendly" and "Work Safe". Nothing that would get any rating higher than PG-13. We will be moderating this heavily. Any images that aren't safe for viewing at work, or for younger members to see, will be deleted.

"SpotLight"

Dolby has added a spotlight that changes every 15min. It picks a random interface and features it. You can see it on our Downloads page, here.

And last, but most certainly not least, something Mod Devs are going to love:

"WoWInterface Development Network"

In the words of our very own Beladona:

I want to formally announce a project I have been working on the past few weeks, and decided to release now with patch 1.6.0

WoWInterface Development Network

this site is running on my personal site, but will be getting moved soon to wowinterface. I am calling it the wowinterface development network as it is a resource for developers to get comprehensive information about the ui, files, and methods for creating addons.

Complete information about the project can be seen in her Release Announcement, here

One last thing. Mod authors - the new toc number is 1600
