Resource Node sound?

I"m trying to find an addon that can trigger a sound when I come in range of an active resource node I'm tracking. Anyone know of one?

I did a search and found a couple threads about this, most from few years ago, but can't find any addons that do/attempt it.

Any ideas? or simply not possible with the api we're given?

As I understand it the minimap is effectively off limits as far as the nodes are concerned so there isnt a way to do what your looking for.
