Can you do reverse targeting?

I spend a lot of my time mining, herbing, skinning... It's my approach to taking it easy...
Unfortunately the raptora population of Zereth Mortis aggro easily, following players for ages and listing them as being in combat preventing mounting...
Often it's difficult to locate the hostile mob as it tends to follow players through objects etc...

That got me thinking whether it's possible to "reverse-target" a hostile mob targeting me or my pet (being a hunter) like you can use /targetlasttarget or @pettarget...

Any feedback is appreciated

You need a valid UnitID to check anything. Even then, targeting is a protected action, especially in combat when half the entire UI is locked down.
