A way to get known spells

I know there's a way for an addon to get a list of known spells/abilities, but I can't figure out how to go about doing that. Anyone have any suggestions?

The second thing I was wondering is this: is there a way for an addon to query the server about the speed of a mount the player knows?

(Sorry if these answers are out there somewhere, search keeps giving me a huge mass of irrelevant threads.)

Thanks that helps out alot. More poking has shown me that there isn't anyway of getting the mount speed of a mount short of reading the buff off the player when they summon it. Not helpful for what I want to do.

So my question becomes; is there an existing database of mounts and speeds? or do I need to make it myself? And if so, any suggestions of a better way to do so then a huge if elseif chain?
