Where did the Carbonite go?

I download it, I unzip it, I put in Addons, but when I pull up the game, it's not in my Addons... It used to work just fine, then I put the newest version in, and it's like WOW doesn't see it...

There are usually two reason for this error.

The first reason is WoW changed it's install directory on Vista/Win7 machines.

Make sure your installing it in the right place. If you are on a Vista/Win 7 machine there was a update a while back that removed the game from the default install directory.

To find the directory of your addons folder right click your WoW shortcut and select "Open File Location" from the drop down menu.

If "Open File Location" is not available you can right click your shortcut and select Properties. Your WoW install directory is under the "Start In" line.

When they moved the install directory they do not delete the old folders and placing addons there does not work.

The other reason for an addon not working is improper extraction.

Easiest way to extract an addon is to do the following:

1) Download it to your desktop (or any location you chose).
2) Open the zip file you just downloaded.
3) Open you WoW addons folder.
4) Drag the folders from the zip file window and drop them onto the addons folder window making sure you do not drop them onto another folder.
