Nodes and Node icons not on map

There seems to be a bug with Carbonites map. Im using Carb's map with Gatherer addon. I have to zoom waaaay in on the minimap to see the herb icons, which makes it almost impossible to farm and when I zoom out on the minimap, even slightly , they're gone. I've tried resetting, even deleteing and re-installing both Carbonite and Gatherer, still the same. This has just happened all of a sudden when it was working fine before ( just last night ). The herb node icons are only on Carbonites maximized map and docked map, not the minimap anymore. Its nothing that I have done or changed, the yellow flashing dots are no longer there either. and ofc i have " find herbs " enabled.

here are some screenshots

text in screenshot says : Herb locations are now gone with no flashing node locations, they can be seen in the docked map ( only )

text in screenshot says : Another zoomed in screenshot of the minimap, again no herb locations

text in screenshot says : This is a screenshot of the main map, showing herb locations throughout the zone. The minimap should look like this. It's almost like the docked map and minimap have swapped places.

I have not tried Gatherer in a long time.

The maps could be swapped, since normal and maximized are each saved with separate sizes and positions. Pressing the ESC key would indicate if the Max one is open, since you would see it switch to the normal mode map. Of course logging in it would be in normal mode too.

I can't tell what the problem is. It could be settings, but reinstalling addons does not change settings, since they are stored in the WTF folder.

Rename/move/delete the Carbonite.lua and Gatherer.lua files in WTF\Account\<name>\SavedVariables. That will remove the current settings and create default settings.

kind regards

ps. just tried that. didnt work. still the same .. other people from my guild are experienceing the exact same issue. it must be conflicting with either another addon or some other file. deleteing the 2 files from the WTF folder didnt remove the herb location icons from the docked map.

going to completely delete the entire wtf / interface folders, to see if that helps. Will get back to you

Missing nodes

Are they any known other addons that interact negatively with Carbonite? I tried deleting both the WTF and interface folders, and that didn't resolve the missing mining nodes on the map.

Not that i am aware of mate. However I didn't re-install Atlas and Atlasloot Enhanced, even though the Atlas I installed was for Cata, it was still displaying error report boxes each time I logged on. Make sure ALL your addons are completely up to date. If there are any addons reporting errors, remove them or disable them until the bugs are fixed as they could potentially conflict with other addons. If your node locations are not displaying after you have deleted WTF and Interface folders dont forget to right click on the carbonite map ( once Carbonite and Gatherer is re-installed ofc ) and select " show " and select Herb / Mining Locations as Carbonite and Gatherer will be set back to their default settings.

Hope this helps .. good luck

I do not have any gathering location addons and am experiencing this, no nodes, on either the world map or the minimap (min/max). However, oddly enough - any nodes that I use, their location is recorded but do not always show up, an appropriote icon is displayed then for it at that location. All these nodes now have 3 numbers after them, eg. "Thorium Deposit 134" (don't recall the exact numbers).

I'll try removing the .lua for carbonite. If that doesn't fix it, then.. I don't know for I do not want to have to redo all my addons, I spent quite a deal of time positioning them all and getting them just right.

The only "gathering" type addons I do have are MillHelp and Sifter.

UPDATE:
Removing just carbonite's wtf files did help. Nodes are being recorded. I just wonder what's up with the numbers after the name and if they will start being ninjas again? [ninja]

"Obsidium Deposit 425" is the exact name of the ore icon Carbonite created just now when I mined an Obsidium node in Hyjal.

I see now that the removal of all the node icons is intentional, as many locations changed. Will the database for the nodes be collected and implemented in an update? Or mayhaps do like Gatherer did and team up with Wowhead and be able to do an import through wowhead's addon?

Cheers!

They answered that question in another thread recently, here:

http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=22486

They have a bunch of databases that they need to grab the info out of. They've just been prioritizing bug squashing over node importing.
I'm guessing that the code that Carb uses to track nodes must not be compatible with Wowhead or something. They don't seem to think that using Wowhead would be easier than doing it all manually. I assume that means that it would require a lot of re-scripting Carb to make them play nice together.

Thanks for the information!
