Helping New Author Get Started - WinMPQ/MPQ Help

Hi all,

I'm looking to get started into developing UI addons and I am having some trouble unpacking the .MPQ files. First and foremost I'm looking to get a feel for what is needed to start developing a mod and I'm trying to follow the mmhell.com addon beginner guide (http://wow.mmhell.com/articles/inter...rs_guide.html). Now my first problem comes when I can't find an interface.MPQ, I assume it may no longer exist as the article is rather old I'm following. My second problem comes when after getting WinMPQ set up I can't extract common.MPQ, I recieve "This file does not contain an MPQ archive".

If some one has some experience and guidance to offer a new addon developer it would greatly be appreciated.

I'm also new to this. I've been doing a lot of web research. Found this MPQ utility that in fact DOES extract common.MPQ.
