ProfileKeys question

For my UI I always clean up the ProfileKeys of my Saved Variables. For some reason !some! AddOns create this ProfileKeys that save the char name and what profile is used by every char that you log into. Why don't they just load the default profil instead of creating a new one (I have some addons that do this)? So many addons have this behavior... so my question: Is there a special reason why they do this? Is this a premade script they just copy past that makes it work like this?
