System notifications for UI events
After 6.2, my WoW icon bounces when I receive a whisper (OS X). Is there a notifications API, so the same could be done with instance queues and a variety of other UI events?

Seems to be something you can trigger by calling FlashClientIcon() while the window doesn't have focus.
