DBM not showing up

I have downloaded and installed DBM and it will not show up on the add-on list. It does not work in game of course. I know it is something easy and stupid but I cannot figure out why it will not work. I have uninstalled, installed several times but no luck. Does anyone have any help to offer?

Have you read through our sticky? http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=14762

If yes, or you need further assistance after doing so, please feel free to ask us again with more details such as install path, operating system, etc.

Be sure all DBM folders are installed directly in to your addons folder.

\\Interface\Addons\DBM-Baradin Hold
\\Interface\Addons\DMB-Firelands

...and so on.

If it is like this, it won't work;

\\Interface\Addons\Deadlybossmods\DBM-Baradin Hold
\\Interface\Addons\Deadlybossmods\DBM-Firelands

DBM not showing up.

I am a MAC user and am running Lion v. 10.7. I checked out the website mentioned and checked the path, spelling and such. The add ons are installed in the add ons folder which is in the interface folder. I am currently running other add ons (damage counter, cool down timer) and they work fine. Thank you, by the way for your help so far.

Can you please post the full path to the file "DBM-Core.toc"? It will help in troubleshooting.

For example, on my (windows) comp, this is:
F:\games\wow\interface\addons\DBM-Core\DBM-Core.toc

DBM not showing up

I am not as literate as most of you in the computer realm but the path is this:
Deployment:\01 games\World of Warcraft\interface\addons\DBM-4\DBM-Core.toc
I believe this is how to write it. Most of the mods are .lua though the core is .toc.
Thank you all very much for the help.

The .toc file(s) has to be same name as the parent folder(s)

e.g. "DBM-4" should be "DBM-Core"

That means that your path should be;

"Deployment:\01 games\World of Warcraft\interface\addons\DBM-Core.toc"

Should be working if you fix that!

OK. I see what you are saying. The DBM Core is contained in the DBM - 4 folder. Should I move it out. This is the way it downloaded from the site.

Yes. You have folder-in-folder syndrome, as detailed in the sticky I linked and exampled by what lerb originally posted.

When you extracted the addon, you created a new folder with the same name as the .zip file. Don't do this. All you need is what's inside the .zip - you don't need to create extra folders. A common option name in extraction utilities is "Extract Here" - this is what to use, if the Mac one says this.

Thank you. I moved the core out in to the add-on folder and now it shows up. Is there anything else I need to download or is the core updated to include the newer content?
Again thank you all for your time and patience.

So you have all of the DBM folders in the AddOns folder now, not just the Core folder, right?

Here mate, here's my Addons folder. This is how it should look (I guess it looks about the same on Macs). You can see the path to the folder I'm viewing on the top of the window. If you put your DBM folders like this, it will work!

He's at least got his addon folders installed properly, so his screenshot should give you a good idea of where all the DBM folders should be.

OFFTOPIC -
Bad, lerb, bad!

Move WoW out of "Program Files (x86)". Under Vista/7, it should not be in any protected folders (C:\Windows, C:\Program Files, C:\Program Files (x86)).

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about

I mean, that's where it was installed by default :s

I thought the installer used a different default path starting with 3.0? (It even asked for permission to move WoW when updating to WotLK.)
