New PC upgrade tips and suggestions

Hey all, just thought i would start this thread for those of us looking for or wanting to give tips and suggestions on PC upgrades and tweaks or for those of you who are lucky enough, just to show of your l33t PC lol.

Probably not the best spot to put it in the nUI forums, but i since we are a fairly tight community, i thought why not.

My current rig is as follows:

CPU: Intel E8400 3.0Ghz (standard clock speed)
MB: Gigabyte EP43-DS3L
RAM: 6Gig Kingston DDR2 (6,6,6,18 timings)
Graphics: Geforce 9800GT 512MB
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 940BW 19" Widescreen (1440x900 Native)
Keyboard: G15 Gaming

Upcomming upgrade:

CPU:Intel i5 750 2.66Ghz 8MB Cache
MB: Gigabyte GA P55-UD3
RAM: 8G Kingston DDR3 1333Mhz
Graphics: 2x Gigabyte ATI HD5750 1GB PCI-E DX11 cards
Monitor: Benq 24" G2420HD (will be running it at 1920x1080p via HDMI)

Any suggestions, feedback welcome.

Just mho, but I would keep the processor and mobo and upgrade the rest. I would never get Kingston though. That's like having a mansion with a pinto parked out front. Get some high performance gaming ram... G-Skill or OCZ (whichever can offer you the better warranty). The same with the video cards. At the time I bought mine, Saphire had the best warranty for the Radeons. You may wish to research and see if it's the same, or if someone jumped ahead of them.

My humble 2 cents.

Thank you for the tips, unfortunatley, i don't have much of a say when it comes to the brand, as i am buying it all from my friends work, and that is all they stock currently (that IS changing though).

Is Kingston really that bad? I have used it for a while and it seems ok (well until recently that is)

It is really cool that everybody only talks over the electric things on a pc.

A really important thing today is cooling. So I have switched to Thermaltake and I really like it. My PC is now 3 years old and running with Win XP like a cat, because the electrical components can run as fast as they could because they running at a maximum of 45°C (dunno what it is in °F).

So Maybe you should spend your money to only one graphic card and buy a Thermaltake Tower (which is the cheapest and best air floating towersout there) and the additional components for RAM, CPU and espacially the Southbrigde of your Mainboard (most of the mainboards coming only with passive cooling and then they run fast over 75°C at gaming).

And yeah for the Ram, Kingstone isn't that good for gaming.

As i already have fairly good cooling and a gaming case, i really didn't see the point of upgrading it.

I am running a Cosmos CoolerMaster S100 Gaming case, with 5 CoolerMaster 120mm fans, and a CoolerMaster heatsink.

Cooling is the first thing i consider when i upgrade, and i have gotten rid of the Kingston Ram and gone with the G-Skill.

That sounds good really good.

I hope you don't sit in the front of a airplane machine.

Hopefully you'll enjoy your new hardware.
