For druids having problems with bars not paging when shapeshifting

So, I helped a druid friend in my guild who was having the issue that many of you have reported. Whenever he switched to bear, he was always getting his cat bar. It had worked fine for him for months, but a couple weeks ago things got screwy. I didn't really look into what the actual underlying issue was, but this is what we did to fix it.
  1. Log out
  2. Deleted all all files that start with the word bongos from WTF/Account/<account-name>/SavedVariables/
  3. Deleted all all files that start with the word bongos from WTF/Account/<account-name>/<server-name>/<character-name>/SavedVariables/
  4. Log in
  5. Mazzify just the button layout. Make sure to uncheck the "Place actions in buttons" setting on the final page of the Mazzifier.
  6. Open bongos options
  7. Click the stances tab in bongos options
  8. Delete all the rules
  9. If you're using the simple druid layouts, add a stance rule to shift bar 1 by 1 page for cat form. If you're using 'Mazzlefizz's Druid Layout', add a stance rule to shift bars 1-3 by 1 page for cat form.
  10. If you're using the simple druid layouts, add a stance rule to shift bar 1 by 2 pages for bear form. If you're using 'Mazzlefizz's Druid Layout', add a stance rule to shift bars 1-3 by 2 pages for bear form.
  11. Reload the UI (type "/rl")

Initially, I'd try doing the above without steps 2-5 so that you don't lose any layout changes you made. If it doesn't work, do the full thing.

Hope that helps.

This is a post someone else made that may also be of help.

I had the same problem with bongos not switching bars when shifting to cat form on my druid and after much googling and experimenting I eventually came across this solution on curse-gaming.com under bongo's comments:

So I learned cat form before aqua, noticed the bar switching wouldn't work under cat but when I put it under aqua it worked. Just learned aqua, (it auto moved my cat form over on the class bar so it goes bear:aqua:cat ), I deleted my aqua stances and added the cat switching back under cat. Now when I click aqua form button it changes me into cat form. The tooltip says aqua form but when I click it I change into cat (and the cat icon next to it changes. So basically both aqua and cat now turn me into cat.
Sure enough when I tried manually changing the "switch bar by..." under aquatic form it updated cat form's bars. Hope this helps for any druids who are still trying to figure this out.

I did this, and for Bear form it worked, and every other Cat form ability...

But when I hit Prowl (the stealth ability) it automatically switches my bar back to Caster form though I remain in Cat form.

How do I fix such an issue?

Probably the same way, but you have to make a rule to replace the cat bar with a bar where you have your stealth abilities on

Just an FYI...I have the same problem on my rogue, but not my druid. Sometimes I stealth, but when I unstealth the bars are still the stealth ones. Sometimes its the opposite. Really anoying but a shift+down fixes it then switching to stelath again and manually switching the bar temporarily fixes it. I will fool with this.

PS the more I think about it it has happened on my druid, just not as often.

Had this problem after the 2.1 update. Updated things with the AceAutoUpdater and followed the instructions below to re-setup bongos. Looks like the problem is fixed going into a form BUT not if you go in/out of forms while in combat. Once I pop out of combat the bar switches to what it should have been on.

For instance, while fighting switch out of cat form and notice bars don’t switch. If I finish the enemy off with my staff the bars instantly switch once I get out of combat.

For some reason when I am in combat I also cant manually page a bar. Any ideas?

Disabling autobar fixes that.

Confirmed: autobar seems to be the root of the paging problem with bongos in combat as well as weird target unitbar stuff.

Just to put the information in here as well, it looks like Autobar was updated again last night and the latest version doesnt have a conflict with stance switching.

Updating to the newest version of Autobar (r36667) fixes the paging issues in combat with Bongos. You can get the newest version at http://files.wowace.com or by using the WoWAceUpdater.

Yes, disabling Autobar, and then after the patch updating it did solve the problem. Then for some reason the other night in Karazhan it came back with a vengeance. At that point, I did have to follow the directions to remove and remake the paging rules in Bongos.

I never did succeed in finding the Blizzard paging rules in order to delete them though. D'oh!

Question:
-I'm using Simple Druid Layout, I believe, but I do have the four sets of bars. In order to get them both to change on the right side, I had to tell Bongos to change bars 1-5 instead of just one bar. How can I find out which bar is which so I can tell it which specific ones to flip?

Supposing this Mazzle FAQ will help, which I'd forgotten about.

For consideration - I have long used Outfitter sets that automatically change when I change forms. It was while arranging gear sets for Curator that I suddenly could not get bars to switch, so could be related? I guess I'll have to break down and learn Itemrack, if that would help, since it comes with Mazzle.

Thanks again, Mazzle and all who help with this fine, fine UI.

After following the instructions for reinstalling Mazzle and updating via WoWAceUpdater, then installing Mazzle's 2.1 patch, things seem to be working great. I believe that the instructions for how to use the aceupdater were really helpful - enabling the libraries addon to be updated, setting the version check to true, etc.

In case it helps someone - if you use the Simple Druid Layout and need to reset your pages - on the right-hand side, those are bars 1 and 4. So you can tell it in Cat form to change bar 4-4 by one pages, and in Bear bar 4-4 to change by 2 pages, then what happens is your right side bars change with form and your left half bars stay the same.

OK good news and bad news.

Good news: I fixed this problem and not through any of the methods that are mentioned in this thread.

Bad News, because I wanted to play with it for a while to confirm it was fixed, it has been too long and I forget how I fixed it.

What I do remember is 1) It had to do with key bindings, I believe WOW's bindings, not bongos or other ones. 2) Seems like I just had to delete the bindings for shifting as a druisd and stealth as a rogue. 3) I found the solution somewhere in Mazzle's docs...but I have looked in the faq and other places and can't find it now.

Hope that helps and sorry that I cant remember better.

Edit found it. And I quote:
Bars in MazzleUI druid/warrior/rogue layout will stop changing based on stance if you use any of the Blizzard page changing bindings, which causes the Bongos page-changing mechanism to go out of sync. It's very easy to do this accidentally, especially the shift-mousewheel combo.

* I'd recommend unbinding all Blizzard page-changing bindings when playing classes that change forms/stances/stealth; they are under the action bars category in the bindings.
* If you do want to rebind the forms/stances/stealth buttons, use the Bongos binding mechanism. Read the layout description to see what the default bindings are.
