Thumbs down Carbonite and WoW 3.2

i have looked thru the forums some and didnt really see anything about carbonite being updated and fitted with the in-game features that are coming in 3.2. id guess the carbonite team is hard at work on a new version for 3.2.

i am wondering will the new blizzard in-game quest helper be fitted into carbonite. like will there quest featuers show up on the carbonite mini map etc? will instance maps be able to be pulled up with carbonite and the other new things that has been added into the game.

That depends if Blizzard gives addons access to the quest data they are showing on their map.

It would be nice, and probably helpful to the Carbonite devs, if they released a carbonite ptr version for us to test so we could report bugs and whatnot. Probably won't happen though.

We currently have Carbonite working without errors on the PTR after making the changes described below. I also have the new Blizzard quest locations showing on the maximized Carb map, but will probably scrap the current method and rewrite it, since I am not thrilled with it.

All changes were made to be backwards compatible with the current version of WoW, so 3.14 will be made as a general release probably within the next week, pending a few more changes and testing.

Changes: 3.14

Fixed map zone selection staying disabled when Esc key used to close a menu.

Changes for Patch 3.2:

Added support for Hrothgar's Landing zone.
Added support for Isle of Conquest zone.

Fixed error from rename of GetDifficultyColor.
Fixed error from missing function UnitIsPlusMob.
Fixed Blizzard quest log detail frame sometimes showing.
Fixed Info window BG cancel time always showing 0.

Thumbs up Donation

I had been waiting to hear this before donating again (I typically continue to pay my old subscription as my donation). Glad to hear you're still hard at it

Keep up the good work, love the addon, always have.

Just a note:

I still love the professional look and feel that Carbonite has. It is truly a joy to use.

Thank you so much for still devoting time to this project in the face of adversity.

You say:
Added support for Hrothgar's Landing zone.
Added support for Isle of Conquest zone.

But carbonite does not work for any quests there for me.

Added support for the zone (maps, coordinates, whatnot) does not equate added quests for the zone.

that's an addon conflict then. Abandoned a few today myself with no issues and double checked again on a clean install and setup.

Ah, that is odd, but not like the quests are hard to find, lol.

That is because we do not have the data for them in our database. We generally do not collect quest data from the PTR servers, since it often changes and we do not want to pollute our database with work in progress data. When a patch goes live, we collect data ourselves and from other users. In about a week we should have some good data, which Haavok will be adding to the database and I'll be releasing in a future version.

Thanks for fixing “not being able to abandon a quest in the Quest log window”.

When clicking quest item’s in the quest watch window they do not work.
You have to find the quest item in your pack to use it.

It works for me, as long as I have the item. In other words, not when it's structured something like this:

Step one: Kill something to get the item.
Step two: Use the item.
Step three: Profit.

When I'm at step one, the button doesn't work, and gives no tooltip. Which is just how it's supposed to be.

I’m not sure why I would want to loot anything seeing that the quest item is put in your backpack by the quest giver.

The quest item’s that don’t work for me from the quest watch window any more are the cooking pots used in the cooking daily’s.

I have had other quests items fail to activate from the quest watch window, when used once from the backpack the quest item can then be activated from quest watch window.

Nothing has changed with the buttons except we only assign the button key binding if it is not set, instead of constantly every second.

The buttons are actually created from the Blizzard watch button template running the standard Blizzard watch button lua code when clicked.
