Hidden Data Channels?

Hi, id like to have my mod share data with others in a raidgroup who also happen to have the mod installed. From what i heard there was a hidden data channel of some sort that could be used for passing information, does anyone have any information on what this channel is and how to use it? I looked through wowwiki but the closest thing i could find was how to hide a particular chat channel
