3.210 map issue

Just installed 3.210

First login, I got dced.

Now, second login, when I bring up the carb map in Dalaran, it shows me over the ocean between EK and Kal. Every time, if i move it, it pops back.

Any ideas?

I tested on 4 different characters. Am now in Dalaran on a 5th. No DCs. The only time you should be in the middle of the ocean is if you are in one of the new instances, which we have not placed in the world yet.

1 Reboot
2 Delete Cache folder
3 Test with all other addons disabled

Are you in a Dalaran instance or the sewer?

I also get errors when I hit M to bring up the map.

in the chat window i see Carbonite 3.13 B238 loading.
that seems odd to me as I deleted the folders from the interface folder and downloaded the newest version posted on the site. and it is the only mod enabled

Yep, you get the same old error because you are still running the old version.

Follow the General Debugging Steps here:

Does that for me too. It doesn't say you're in the ocean per se, but the Carbonite map shows its center until you move so it begins tracking your position. Same thing happens if you focus the map somewhere else, like Blasted Lands. It stays there until you move, then Carbonite begins tracking you again.

I don't think it classifies as a bug, since it doesn't harm anything.

Are you talking about me? I deleted the Carbonite folders and then installed the latest version

Yes, I was talking about the fact that it still shows 3.13, which means it was installed incorrectly. Follow the debugging steps in the link, since you may have put it in the wrong WoW folder. Many people have multiple WoW folders and don't even know it. The properties of the shortcut you use to launch the game has the real path of the WoW folder you are actually using.

ya, I have had to clean that mess up on a couple friend's computers.

It is still telling me 3.13 even though I have deleted the carbonite folders, then download it from the site, and copy it from the new download. yes it still says 3.13 even at the addon menu in the character selection screen.

ok, now this is weird.... I searched my entire Hard drive for Carbonite and its showing nothing.... (except the .lua files) even though I have deleted it from the addon folders and even deleted the .zip and its still showing up in the addon folders. and when launching wow.exe directly from C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft and my shortcut points to "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Launcher.exe" as I created it myself a while back. it still shows carbonite in the list. I am very puzzled.

ok, turns out system protection was stopping me from really deleting carbonite and other addons
