sorry I should have read up, it appears that it is in fact broken so im going to try smartbuff. BUT smartbuff gives me an error interface/addons/smartbuff.lua:646: attempt to index global SMARTBUFF_options' (a Nil value)

Which version of SmartBuff are you using? Maybe you press the SmartBuff key to fast after loggin, you have to wait unti the minimap button has appeared.

ok yes it works, but now it seems like its taking a terribly long time to load! is that commen?

It is using a delay for initialization. The reason is, that the inventory is not accessible immediately after login. So I have to wait a few seconds, otherwise it can't detect the reagences for weapon buffs.

That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation and this is a good replacement for autobuff I would have to say!
