AddOns not Saving data

This seems to be a generic problem with many Addons now 1.7 is out.

MobileFrames in Cosmos has it, at least with the Buffs frame. Although I'm only using that because MoveAnything! has an even worse problem.

ShardTracker (non-Cosmos version) is also not saving settings.

Has anyone found a generic reason for this yet, i.e. a fix that can be applied to any AddOn ?

ASO had the same problem.. i remember a post in the wow-ui forum from iriel that a frame must not have the same name as the variable which stores the settings.
maillog and tradelog suffer the some problem btw :/
