DoTimer help with updating this addon

This is hands down my favorite addon, but it hasnt been updated in quiet some time. And as it stands now it crashes whenever you try loading up wow with Atlas or AtlasLoot enabled. I've been playing with them disabled so I can still use this addon, but I have the feeling this addon is also responsible for some of the increased lag I have had lately since 5.1 and it became broken.

This was posted and allows it to run, but like I said its not able to run with Atlas or AtlasLoot and its causing some real bad lag.

Is there anyone at all out there would could do a quick fix for this? I want it fixed so badly I've even looked into learning coding myself, lol.
(I tried contacting both people involved with the add-on and neither of them have responded to multiple attempts starting back at the end of Jan.)

Have you tried other, similar addons that have been updated more recently? Raven does buff/debuff bars, DoT/HoT bars, and cooldown bars. There are also tons of other addons that provide some/all of those features: NeedToKnow, ForteXorcist, Ellipsis, etc. I don't personally use any addon of this type, so I can't be more specific in my suggestions, but you can just browse the Buffs & Debuffs addon category and look at the screenshots or read the descriptions to see if the addon provides the features you need.
