MetaMap or Cartographer?

Hello all. I've searched the forums and couldn't find anything comparing MetaMap with Cartographer.

I use Metamap actually, but I'm willing to test Cartographer because I love ckknight's AddOns (I'm a fan of FuBar, haha) and I know he is really concerned about memory usage and simplicity in codes.

Well, I think I know Metamap well, So I'll present it to you guys (for those whose don't know about Metamap functions) and for comparison purposes. Here we go:

• MetamapBLT - The function I use most of the time. With this, you can check out Boss Loot links according to Instances - I really would like to know if there is this function on Cartographer.
• MetaMapFWM - Shows you unexplored areas of the map and lets you choose the color you want to paint it
• MetaMapTRK - Tracks Herbs, Mines and Treasures
• MetaMapWKB - I love this. It shows you a table with all of the NPCs/Monsters that you've encountered through the game and lets you mark them on map or minimap.

Well, there are more functions, but I use only these at the moment. I was reading about Cartographer and couldn't find clear information about how it works, so please Cartographer users, would you lend me a hand in here?

Cartographer have most of the function you mention, lacks MetaMapWKB though.

on too which is best MetaMap or Cartographer well can't say, fan of Ace2 addons and ckknight so switched from MetaMap to Cartographer myself

I think that Cartographer_Opening is an early version of or was replaced by Cartographer_Treasure.

Yeah, I was really thinking about that...

But the only thing that keeps me with Metamap is the Knowledge Base
What about the Boss Loot Tables? ô.o
Well, I hope these are features that ckknight would consider including in the next builds

Yes there are instance boss loot tables.

You can add notes to your map to indicate various things like mob locations etc.

Silverdragon integrates with Cartographer to mark rares on your map also, which I like quite a bit.

ToFu integrates FlightMasters which is also handy.

WoWKB is the original KB provided in Metamap updated by the original author. It is found here:

WoWKB uses a significant smaller table to store the database and is much more efficient. The author is currently working on a conversion tool from Metamap to WoWKB.

Wow guys, I gotta say thank you for that!
I'll be trying Cartographer and will test integration with those addons you've mentioned in the next days. After that I'll post my impressions here!
