Question on "/use pet cage"

Hello everyone,

This question borders on macro and Lua territory so I wasn't sure if this is the right place for it. So I apologize if this is better placed elsewhere.

I'm trying to get some information on how this actually works (end result being it will 'learn' any caged pet in your bags, possibly other places?) / make in work in Lua, but the only information I can find on it is that 'it exists'.

It isn't helped by the meaning of words like caged / learn sometimes being used interchangeably and not officially.

I'm guessing this would be some equivalent of, 'check each bag item until a 'pet' is found, if it is then learn / use it'? Something like that?
