Custom timer/Flashing unit frames

I'm interested in trying to set unit frames up that flash red for a split second when someone takes damage. I didn't see anything like this in some searches.

I'm kind of assuming I'll have to do some scripting for this one, if I can do it? Anyone done anything like this already?
