Do you really need it open during combat?

Also, I seen no addon that would stop it from opening.

Bongos controls the menu bar and does not allow the Spell Book to be opened in combat. This to avoid any tainting issues and the resulting annoying error message as the Spell Book seems to be a Secure function now. If you try the same thing with Bartender3, you can open the Spell Book but if you push any button, you will get the error message (Not the exact message) :

"Ace2 (or other AddOn) has tried to perform an action prevented by the UI. It is recommended to disable this AddOn to prevent this action in the future"

And you get the option of to Ignore or Disable. And the action you were trying to perform still does not get completed.

i experiance the same problem. However i think this is a Blizzard thing not a addon thing, i may be wrong but there are certain things i think it stops u from doing when in combat, not sure if this is to stop u from blocking ur veiw during a fight or if it is for some other reason.

but i may be wrong and sry if i am

I use bartender3 and have no problem with opening my spell book in combat, using either the key binding or the provided button. You've (all?) got something tainting your SpellBookFrame.

Have you looked if "Double Wide" does something to the spellbookframe as well ?

If not the only solution is to disable them one at a time until you find the addon causing it

Have you tried using the keybind (P) to open the spellbook or are you only using the menu button?

Solved. It was double wide, deleting addon, cursing author. And yeah, you need that spellbook sometimes.
