Places of interest - Map texture modif

I've been looking for mods to modify maps and yet, the best I've found was cartographer. Only, I would like to find an addon or to simply modify maps so we can see places of interest, exactly like on the website worldofwar.net.

Map notes, most of the current maps support this out-of-box, otherwise there are mods that are map notes themselves and work on stock WoW.
