How to update my addon ?

Hello everybody !

I have some addon out of date, but when I looked for an updated version on Curse-gaming, they are already out of date. They work, but each I started playing, I have an error message : "Your addons are out of date and it may slow your game, click here to disable your addons".

I have heard somewhere that a little freeware can update all my addon, but I can't find it anymore...

So far as im aware curse.com has an addon updater available as does this site. If your addons are out of date you can just check the 'load out of date' addons in the selection screen you access at the character select screen.

As long as they are using the current addon API they should work fine (and in most cases do) If your getting the error in game with the little pop up window you might have conflicting addons. I had a similar issue when i was trying to test 2 unit frame addons at the same time. in that case just turn on a few at a time and log back in until you get the error then turn off the latest ones individually until you find the culprit.

An addon like MCP can assist with this so you dont have to log out each time and can disable addons from in the game.

well, for one, that's an old version of OmniCC. The folder was renamed a while ago to remove the ! from the name. http://www.wowinterface.com/download...36-OmniCC.html

I've never heard of that message popping up for anyone in-game... Or I just completely forgot about it cause I just saw one other person report it.

Update your mods. Check here, Curse, and wowace.

Dont see any conflicts. My guess would be just net diving for the most recent versions you can find from reputable sites. My guess is it might be your version of ag_unitframes I vaguely recall seeing a post (or might have been IM with a friend) where a similar issue popped up and in his case it turned out to be that.

To be honest im just guessing here. It will take trouble shooting on your part to bnarrow it down. You can start by turning that one off. And if the problem goes away you have a place to continue from. Keep turning them off in succession till you find the one that stops the problem.

Your very first step though will be to make sure your mods are all up to date. the unit frames for example will have their most recent version available on wowace.com

Curse doesnt usually get updated right away and may have older versions. Being that it lists as out of date im would have to think so.

As a side note ive actually seen this screen. It was a window in the error frame that said your addons are causing hig amounts of data traffice and may effect performance. Do you want to disable them? and it only had a yes button lol.

First, i'll change mon OmniCC addon.
Then "your addons are causing hig amounts of data traffice and may effect performance." I think it is this one, I am french, and I tried to do a translation of my own message. I'll screen if you want.

I'll try with the new OmniCC and tell you what results of.

That basically means one of your addons is doing something dodgy. I would suggest giving us an addon list or use a process of elimination to find the culprit.

Hmmm it is a message from necrosis when I summon my Felsteed.

It mean, literaly : "I am coming with the speed of the nightmare"

Laisse tomber c'est encore pire en traduisant, de toute façon même les traductions officielles de Blizzard sont littérales et donc risibles en Français, par conséquent c'est tout à fait dans le ton

I think there was a typo somewhere in some translation software between "steed" and "speed"

speed/steed, you are talking about my warlock mount ? I found this name on Warlock's Den. It isn't my own translation. And concerning "J'arrive à la vitesse du cauchemar", it a necrosis message ... And so it is maybe better translated than Blizzard translation ... There's a lot of work for translators ^^

I have to say I am a lazy man ... I postponed to write down all my out of date addons. Do I must log to my character page to see out of date addons ?

That is what I am saying, whoever translated Necrosis must have made a typo, "steed" into "speed". The English version yells "I am summoning a steed from nightmare!".
"sur une monture cauchemardesque", not "à la vitesse du cauchemar", Got it?

"A steed" would refer to "a riding animal, a mount". I would say there could be a medieval / military flavor to the word within this context (just a hint), so "destrier" would work really well. Warlock mounts are actually called Felsteed and Dreadsteed in English WoW, hence the Necrosis message.
