Make sure you have the Alpha installed, if you use Curse Client, right-click Carbonite and set "Preferred Release Type" to Alpha.

The new Carbonite (AKA Carbonite II) is fantastic, most of the errors you're having is probably due to the fact you have the old Carbonite installed.

Don't blame the new author for the old authors' problems.

Rythal is the new author and has a job/life, something you probably wouldn't know anything about peering out the windows of your mom's basement.

He is using the beta version, so there probably is an issue with tracking somewhere... I just haven't had time to sit down and figure it out.

I imagine that working on such a complex addon as Carbonite requires quite some time. My question :
Is there someone else that helps you with redesigning/patching/developing Carbonite, Rythal ?
If you think it is a good idea to get some help, please ask and I think there are many that would like to give a helping hand or even more.
Being still one of the most popular addons I hope that there are Carbonite fans that have also the programming knowledge to be able to help.
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place, but my opinion is also that Carbonite may still have some glitches but it is pretty much functional. I've been using it since I started playing WoW.

the main code is done by me, several people are helping out with getting the databases up to date in the other forum which has been a great help and was exactly what I was hoping would happen when I started making the rewrites... but there are a lot of databases, and a lot of quests / points of interest to be checked... let alone the new 85-90 stuff to be added.

I may do what Nihm was suggesting and make a parser to convert the data he has gathered in grail...

I do admit in the last 3 weeks I have not been able to do very much with carbonite since i'm working 3 jobs to pay for the blizzcon trip, so hopefully once i'm back from that i'll be able to put more effort into it.
