Logon error and Nui is black

I am frequently getting the attached error at logon, Nui is completely unusable. Have to login / logout. The error is quite random, and does not always happen

Exit WoW and go to your [ World of Warcraft > WTF > Account > {your account } > {your realm} > {your character} > SavedVariables ] folder and delete the "nUI.lua" file you find in there. Then log back in on your toon and see if that fixes it.

ive been getting a similar problem except a little different lately



other than being black sometimes when i log in everything is bordered white sometimes reloading will fix it sometimes it wont sometimes i have to turn off the skin i have for nui and it will fix it and sometimes it wont should i do the same thing you told him to do?

The error is still occurring, I have provided an update in this thread - honestly it is incredibly frustrating.

I did more than delete that file, i deleted the interface and wtf directories and restarted from the beginning.

And its particularly common when a toon has been parked outside the bank in Ironforge and seems to be related to the heavy trade chat that occurs as soon as you log in.

Ok, I tried this again since I have everything reinstalled. Gui loads in Ironforge now, but you get an error:

As I posted in the other thread -- press "Escape" to bring up the WoW options menu, select "Interface" then "Social" and see if "Simple Chat" is checked. If it is, uncheck it.

Also, are you *sure* your copy of Prat is current? It looks to me like you have Prat-3.0 installed and should have Prat-3.3 installed. But I'm not sure on that one.

Thinking further on this it seems to be crashing in Ironforge and also seems to be related to the combat log. In cities like Ironforge there is a constant stream of craftsmans activities in the combat log. I guess there is a string in the combat log that when it occurs while logging in, Nui crashes.

Simple chat is not enabled, and its definitely prat 3.3

nUI doesn't do anything with the combat log except set it's location. It has no idea what the content in the log is, so I can't see how a particular string in the log could be responsible.

well, whatever it is, Nui+ is erroring frequently and most frequently in cities.

Have you tried with just nUI+ activated ? Just in case it is something clashing for control ?
